Do you accept all insurance companies?
Yes! We repair on behalf of all insurance companies. When making your claim, request Dunsborough Smash Repairs as your preferred repairer. Most policies allow you to make this choice, however you may have to verbalize this during your claim process as some insurers will automatically send you to their affiliated repairer.
What do I do if I have an accident?
In the event of an accident, first and foremost contact relevant emergency services, and ensure your vehicle is removed to a safe place. Be sure to collect as much information as possible including details of all involved drivers and vehicles, and the time and place of the accident. Contact Dunsborough Smash Repairs directly to initiate the repair process. We will assist you in making a claim with your insurance company, booking your vehicle in for a quote, and getting you back on the road safely as soon as possible.
Who do I contact first in the event of an accident?
If you are unsure of the insurance process, contact Dunsborough Smash Repairs and we will talk you through the steps you need to take to get your car safely back on the road. We will liaise directly with your Insurance throughout the claims and repairs process.
If you have already contacted your insurance company, be sure to notify them of your choice of repairer. They will then contact us to begin the claims process.
Can I choose my own repairer?
Yes. In the case of most policies, you have the right to choose your own repairer. What does this mean for you? It means you have choice and control over where your car is repaired. Choosing a local and privately operated repair shop ensures that not only are you supporting local business, but you are ensuring that the focus is on quality and safety. Having a choice means you can do your research, follow recommendations, and take control of the repair process, which ultimately provides you peace of mind when getting back on the road.
My insurance company has sent me elsewhere, can I still use DSR?
Of course. If you are unsure about the repairer you have been recommended to use, contact your insurer and request your chosen repairer. If they are hesitant, check your policy. Most policies allow for choice of repairer, even though this choice may not be given during the claims process. If your policy is one of the few that do not allow choice of repairer, you may wish to consider updating to a more flexible policy. Many insurance companies offer choice without any extra cost. I am uninsured, can you repair my car?
Absolutely. We accept private jobs regardless of size. Sometimes people choose to repair their insured vehicle without using their insurance to avoid the excess payment. You are welcome to contact us to discuss a quote or send us the details of your damage here.
Do you do restorations?
We sure do! We are passionate about vintage and classic cars and love assisting with restoration projects. Whether it is some minor repairs, a full rebuild or a custom hot rod we would love to have a chat about your project.
Do you do minor repairs, such as scratches and car park dents?
Yes. If you are looking at cleaning up some minor repairs, or preparing your vehicle for sale, we can assist. We offer state of the art Paintless Dent Removal, which uses specialized tools and processes to repair minor damage while reducing time and cost. Yes! As the doors of our new premises open, we are offering a range of detailing services to suit every budget and need. What payment options do you have?
We currently accept payment via direct debit, cash, or credit/debit card. We will soon be offering Afterpay for our minor services and Excess Payments.
